Katy Inman (katy@c-t-l.org) joined CTL in the summer of 2019 as Head of School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Haverford College in 1999, and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University in 2002. From 2004 to 2019, she was the Middle School Director and a 7-8 humanities teacher at Touchstone Community School in Grafton, Massachusetts.

Anne Atwell Merkel is CTL's Assistant Head of School and a proud member of the Class of 2000. A graduate of Amherst College, she taught 7-8 Humanities at CTL for nine years before going on to work in nonprofit administration, primarily for Girls on the Run-Maine as Program Manager, where she led programming, outreach, and training and partnered with over 70 schools and communities across the state. She served on the CTL Board of Directors for eleven years, recently leading the committees on Curriculum and Professional Reach, and is co-author, with her mother, Nancie Atwell, of The Reading Zone, Second Edition: How to Help Kids Become Skilled, Passionate, Habitual, Critical Readers, based on work with readers at CTL. One of Anne’s earliest memories is standing with her mom, at sunset, on the land on Cross Point Road that would become home to, so far, thirty-five years’ worth of writers, readers, mathematicians, historians, scientists, and artists. She has considered it her own second home ever since.

Louise Monroe is CTL’s Director of Finance and Development and a native of Midcoast Maine. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning her Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication, as well as a Master of Science in Business and Analytics. After graduating Louise moved back to her hometown, beginning her professional career as an Administrative Assistant at Boothbay Region Land Trust. In 2020, she joined CTL as the Office Manager, a role she held for three years before transitioning to the Director of Finance and Development in 2023. In the summer, she manages Cozy’s Dockside restaurant in Southport. She has always loved attending school and learning as a whole, and has found the opportunity to learn and grow at CTL to be rewarding.

Sarah Collins is joining CTL’s office as an administrative assistant. Sarah grew up in northern New Hampshire, and has lived in Maine for the past five years as she pursued her undergraduate degree. She graduated from University of Maine Farmington with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. During high school, Sarah spent time volunteering in her school’s office, and more recently has spent her summers as the Camp Administrator at Camp Somerset for Girls in Smithfield, ME. She is excited to continue her passion of working with and helping children here at CTL.
