Long-term Humanities Teacher for Grades 7 and 8

CTL is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for 7th and 8th grade writing, reading, and history. The position, which fills a maternity leave, begins at the start of the 2018-19 school year (September 4) and extends through November (the end of the first trimester). A qualified candidate will have experience teaching middle school students and a background in writing and reading. This is a two-thirds Monday through Thursday position, 8:15 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Salary is negotiable.

The school is known locally and nationally for its award-winning teaching, research-based methods, outreach to teachers across the United States, relationships of trust between faculty and parents, and respect for children. The combined 7-8 class in 2018-19 has 18 students. A syllabus and lesson plans for writing and reading will be provided. History is focused on ancient Egypt and Greece, in a collaborative, K-8 approach.

Interested candidates might include teachers who wish to consider taking a sabbatical leave from their current positions in order to spend a trimester at CTL.

All candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume, and three references by May 31, 2018, to Kamala Grohman at ctlkto8@gmail.com or 119 Cross Point Rd., Edgecomb, Maine 04556.
